Works also with gay and lesbian “friendzones” and yes, if the interested party leaves they could be seen as bastard for only hanging around to get their hole/pole, but I’ve cut many, sometimes all, ties to the person I was friendzoned (now a verb) by because it is so very painful to see someone you love date other people. It can take years before I’m able to have them as a friend again without them (unintentionally I’m sure) breaking my heart.

That aside, the “thanks for wasting my time,” guy is clearly a misogynistic douche.
